Drinking Coffee And Doing Good
We deconstructed our entire approach to business and made it about two things, great coffee and doing things the right way. We wanted to do what we could with local communities as much as support international Humanitarian & development Agencies so we worked out a way to do both.
Through our #CommunityCafé Pop-Ups and what we are doing now with our Flagship Initiative ‘From the Ground Up’ we provide subsidised coffee & tea , and work with local home-based bakers/startups. Our #CharityCoffee scheme is a ‘build back better’ initiative all about bringing people together & changing lives through the power of coffee. From creating that safe space in a central hub that’s inclusive and accessible, promotes cohesion, to offering life skills & training that will lead to hospitality employment, to working in ending #ChildFoodPoverty to reduce inequalities.
We also have pledged a commitment to do our part in progressing Gender Equity and promoting balance, and in becoming signatories to the UN Women’s Women Empowerment principles, we’re clear that as a business we need to do more and this our first step on that journey. We’re fully supportive of equal pay at work and we’ve already reviewed where we need to be to ensure that we have Women in leadership roles.
As people, we can amplify and advocate that more needs to be done and we’re doing just that. #LevelThePlayingField. Sustainable coffee is an important part of further development.
Women play a significant role in the coffee industry, yet they typically have little control over resources and harvest proceeds and limited participation in decision maling processes. It’s time to level the playing field.
Ethical Coffee means something more than ticking a box
We’ve always been purpose-driven and everything about our brand and the business is about being an ethical & mindful coffee company. From ensuring that there’s sustainability in every aspect of our business that includes the way we work, our eco-packaging, where we source our beans from, our relationship with the farmers and all of our stakeholders to the embedded charitable support donating to great causes and to the furtherance of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals through advocating diversity, inclusions and championing Gender Equality Goal 5. Doing what we can – because we should.
Our Climate Commitment
In recognizing that climate change poses a threat to the economy, nature and society-at-large, Robin & Zubair as founders, and through our company & brand have committed to take action immediately in order to:
- Halve our greenhouse gas emissions before 2030
- Achieve net zero emissions before 2050
- Disclose our progress on a yearly basis
In doing so, we are proud to be recognised by the United Nations Race to Zero campaign, and join governments, businesses, cities, regions, and universities around the world that share the same mission.
This echoes our commitment to the climate.
Robin & Zubair are conscious that our eco-footprint doesn’t stop by simply offering recyclable boxes in all our deliveries. We have also taken additional measures to minimize our overall footprint, including teaming up with https://onetreeplanted.org/ where we make a contribution to reforestation programs for every purchase with a focus on Scotland which seeks to re-establish woodland, improve water and soil quality, and create habitat for wildlife in areas that were historically forested.
We will continue to look at ways to improve our environmental credentials so that you can enjoy your coffee guilt-free and be more sustainable.

While so many things about the future are uncertain it’s reassuring to know that when you strip everything away, our lives are made up simply of a series of moments, moments that become chapters, each one helping to shape our individual stories. These moments are precious.
